Bike and barge Croatia on a wonderful cycling and cruise vacation with Boat Bike Tours. Explore Croatia’s history and beauty in 8 wonderful days.
Bike and barge your way around Croatia
The best way to experience pristine beaches, stunning national parks and the UNESCO World Heritage-listed cities of Split and Dubrovnik is on a tour with a difference: a week-long bike and barge tour in Croatia. Whether you choose tours to historic cities, Croatia’s islands in the Adriatic Sea, or national parks, there’s something for everyone’s interests in our bike and barge tours in Croatia.
Bike and barge Croatian history
Some tours include visits to the UNESCO-listed Split and Dubrovnik or pass through lesser-known cities and towns that are just as rich in history. You’ll bicycle along picturesque coastal roads and enter quaint harbor towns protected by ancient fortresses. You can see, feel and smell the history all around you as you cycle.
Island-hopping
The Croatian islands will fill you with strong impressions of this ancient place. As you explore them by bike, rolling green hills and rugged landscapes will give way to small seaside towns rich in culture and history. During the day you’ll encounter many places of beauty: scenic coastlines, sandy beaches, harsh lunar landscapes, vineyards and woods.
National Parks on a bike and barge Croatia tour
On our National Park cruise, you’ll bicycle and walk In Krka National Park to view some of its seven(!) picturesque waterfalls. You’ll cruise through National Park Kornati to Nature Park Telašćica, where you can walk to see the stunning cliffs that drop steeply into the clear blue sea and also go see Silver Lake –actually more green than silver.
On your bike and barge Croatia trip
After a rewarding day on the bike and an afternoon swim, you can take it easy on board the boat. Most evenings we moor in a harbor town overnight so, if you prefer, you can go and take in the local bars and cafes. Otherwise, just breathe in the sea air and watch the sunset as you relax on the barge’s deck.
Barge vacations in Croatia
Your home the whole week will be a comfortable motor yacht accommodating between 28 and 36 passengers. The boats feature comfortable cabins with en-suite bathrooms, sun decks and salons. The on-board chef creates excellent meals every evening, served in the ship’s dining room.
Guided bicycling
What is special about combining biking with cruising is that you get the advantages of cruising: a whole week with no need to pack or move or arrange transportation or meals. At the same time, you get all the joys of cycling: out in the open air, experiencing the changing landscapes and scenery from close by.
Our tours in Croatia are all fully guided, so your tour leader keeps track of the route and shows you the way. All you need to do is take in the sights and savor the scenery, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to stop and enjoy.
Cycling levels vary from fairly easy to somewhat more challenging over medium hilly routes. The bicycles we use match the requirements of the particular tour and range from hybrid touring bikes to mountain bikes to e-bikes, which can be requested in advance.
