Sail and bike

Welcome to your active sail and bike holiday in Holland! What could be more Dutch than cycling and sailing? These are the two elements that form our bike and sail holidays. You can choose to help with hoisting the sails each day on the boat and then explore the beautiful coastal routes of the Netherlands by bike. Discover Golden Era trading towns, fishing villages, Dutch farming landscapes, and peaceful beaches, islands and mudflats. Your hotel for eight days will be a comfortable sailing boat, dropping you off every morning for interesting bike rides through beautiful Dutch maritime regions like the IJsselmeer, the Frisian Sea, and the Zuiderzee Coast.

We also offer Baltic Sea trips in traditional sailing ships: Feel the wind, salt and sun on your skin by sailing and biking around Germany’s largest island, Rügen (famous for its white stone cliffs), and enjoy the beach resorts of Usedom. Alternatively, why not go island-hopping in the Danish Baltic Sea — the Danes are also bike crazy!

Even biking the verdant coastline of Northern Ireland is a possibility with our sail and bike trips on the grand tall ship Thalassa. This 47m-long beauty is fitted with double cabins, a tasteful salon, and a covered deck, and will be your hotel as you explore Rathlin Island, (London)Derry, Bangor and perhaps even the Giant’s Causeway.

Southern Europe: Sail and bike in Greece and Spain

Those who’d like to combine sunbathing with a sail and bike trip can’t go wrong with our sailing trips in Greece and Spain. On one hand, you could choose to explore the Balearic Islands on the three-masted sailing ship Atlantis, departing from Mallorca and stopping by the islands of Ibiza and Formentera, where you’ll visit medieval forts and enjoy dips in crystal clear waters after challenging bike rides over the hills. Or explore the Ionian Islands off the west coast of Greece, on a loop trip from Corfu. You’ll trace Venetian influences throughout the archipelago, swim in the shimmering waters of the Ionian Sea and visit both famous and lesser-known islands like Ithaca and Paxos. Why not enjoy sumptuous Greek cuisine on board the wooden motor yacht SV Panagiota — and wonderful bike tours!
