The Flora is great barge with adequately sized cabins and excellent ensuites. Meals were well presented and varied. There was strong bias towards vegetable content which meat lovers may have trouble with. On board bar was well stocked and much appreciated. Cycle route was easily followed and daily distances were within reach of anyone who could ride a cycle. Overall the Flora’s new owners have a great product and their willingness to interact with guests is sure to see many guests return in the future.

This was my fifth barge/bike trip although just the first with this company. Consequently I can’t help but make comparisons.The boat was the nicest and most comfortable of the five trips, but the dinners were sad in comparison. Breakfast buffets were plentiful, but dinners were far inferior to the other boats. There was plenty of food, but sadly cooked. The staff with the notable exception of the guide was helpful and friendly. The guide couldn’t be bothered to get defective or poor fitting bikes in order until a veiled threat to call the main office got results. A couple of the daily maps had noticeable errors that didn’t seem to concern him. Lack of navigable water required a change in the itinerary, but what we did was interesting and scenic. No fault there with the company. I found the system for paying for drinks cumberson, bet perhaps I was just accustomed to running a room tab that was settled on the last night. Would I go again? Absolutely. These trips are just too much fun to be discouraged by less than really good food or a disinterested crew member.

I liked pretty much everything about our trip down the Moselle and Saar Rivers in the Flora. The itinerary was very good, with well thought out routes and stops. The size of the boat was almost perfect, and the small passenger load made for a very intimate bike tour. We even made a few new friends along the way. The crew of the Fluvius were very attentive to our needs, and the bikes were in very good condition. While the cycling distances were perfect most days, some days I longed for a bit longer route. Unfortunately, when cycling in a river valley, with hills on either side, I realize this is not always practical.

The countryside, guides, weather (late August), tours, crew, food and fellow-cyclists all made this a wonderful experience. We’ll have trouble matching this tour in the future in quality and care taken. This was a perfect trip.

We absolutely loved our bike and cruise trip from Amsterdam to Bruges. All the staff from the captain Henk, to to trip leaders, Esther and Burt were wonderful. The chef prepared gourmet meals every night except one night. We also enjoyed the cycling through cities and countrysides of the Netherlands and Belgium. We have travelled quite a bit, and this trip ranked as the BEST! Thanks to all of you who planned and executed it! We will share it with friends! ~ Carol & Jim

Fantastic trip! The accommodations were OK and the guides were fun. Sara, the Chef, is out of this world! We enjoyed the trip immensely. It would have been nice to have guided trips into town each evening as we have done on other lines, but we figured it out as we went along.

We loved the boat & bike ‘formula’. Cabin was excellent. The food on board was excellent, as were all the staff. The bicycles provided (regular and e-bike) were very good. Suggestions for improvement: 1) have an air compressor available on board to rapidly inflate bicycle tires 2) regular (non-sparkling) water should be available at meal times AT NO COST 3) provide biscuits or cookies with the afternoon coffee 4) ensure the cruise director provides the same level of detail in English as in German at the daily briefings 5) lower the intensity of the lights on the sun deck at night! 6) ensure materials (tour book, repair kit, paniers, etc.) are distributed in a controlled fashion, i.e. one per cabin, following the list of passengers, and not freely to anyone who simply took more than their fair share!

We had a wonderful bike tour on the Zeewanjee. The crew including Karyn and Captain Willie were superb. Our guides, Tami and Marcel, were excellent….they combined people skills, selecting beautiful sites to take breaks, humor, knowledge of history and the area with excellent bike repair skills and support. From Captain Willie getting us taxis to our trains, to keeping the ship clean and tidy, they did a remarkable job. It was an unforgettable experience. Thank you very much.
