Nice boat (Sarah) and crew with less than 20 passengers which is good for chatting to people. The cycling was easy apart from the head wind but could have taken more time at the stopping places.

The Hanseatic Tour The renovation of the De Nassau was not complete as evidenced by the non-working air conditioning in our cabin; the flickering lights in the salon during meals; and the toilet paper fixture falling off the wall. The hotel manager promised to have the air conditioning fixed on three occasions and it never happened. The tour seems organized for German tourists — the food was obviously geared toward their tastes and only minimally toward the area we were touring in (The Netherlands); and the nightly briefing by the tour guide was 45 minutes of German and 15 minutes of English. The amount of information about the area we were about to ride through was minimal. We also missed out on preparation emails regarding the GPS app that we were supposed to download. We were surprised to find the exact same breakfast and lunch every day of the trip. The selection was surprising not Dutch in the selection of cheese, etc. Our last trip (with Eurosail) was much more geared to the area we were in and there was much greater variety. Lastly the ship’s crew although very hard working and polite was understaffed. Dinner took over 2 hours each night which left little time for town walks. The bikes were not thoroughly prepped before the start. Some tires were low, and this was not addressed unless the rider requested it. The routes were lovely, the GPS app great and the itinerary seemed well planned.

We just returned from a week on the Leafde fan Fryslan with Captain Floris, and his crew: Yorick, Ruben, Annie and Paulette. This is our second experience with BoatBike Tours and our first on a sailing vessel. Everything about this trip exceeded our expectations: food, condition of the ship, staterooms, attentiveness of the crew, quality of bike and walking tours and the camaraderie among the guests. The temperature was extremely high for the Netherlands in July. The crew took that into consideration and did everything possible to make our tour enjoyable. We can’t see enough about the excellence of the entire BoatBike Tours experience!

First timers to the bike and barge. Loved it. Especially using the ebikes made riding 30 plus miles a day a breeze. I was worried about being able to do it as I’m 66 and not a regular biker but I kept up with the group no problem. And there were others older in the group. Loved biking thru the beautiful scenery in Germany Austria Hungary and Slovakia. Would love to do it again. Yes the crew was great and especially Petra kept us well informed of all the pertinent details of our daily tours.

Bruges to Amersterdam: Peter, Mike, Michelle (who wouldn’t give the chef 5 stars for our delish meals!) and the whole crew were just fabulous. From sunrise to sunset our cruising experience and cycling from Bruges to Amsterdam was fun, interesting and the BEST way to see the countryside. Highly recommend to all who love to cycle from beginners to advanced.

We went on the trip from Montargis to Paris and were very pleased. The biking was well planned and the side trips were interesting. We thought the food was very good and the accommodations, although tight were comfortable and there was plenty of room to unpack and put your suitcase under the bed. We really liked the relaxed atmosphere on board. The guides were so friendly and accommodating and kept everybody’s safety and comfort in mind. We are already looking into doing another one.

Overall, pretty good. Food was great for breakfast and dinner. Lunches were fine also. Biking was good but got to be a bit of “same old, same old”. The pace was good on the bikes. Could have used a bit more of stopping with explanations of things, people and culture. Would like to have learned more on the trip than I did.

A large group of us, 10, took this wonderful boat bike tour and it was truly a great experience. We started in Bruges and biked our way to Amsterdam. First I want to start by giving a big shout out to our wonderful bike leaders, Michael and Peter who led us through some of the most beautiful, calming scenery I have ever seen. Safety was their number 1 motto and all of us appreciated that. They were also very informative along the way. The paths were straight with very little hills. In our group, some of us had e-bikes and some did not. I appreciated having the e-bike especially as the week went by, it was great to have. Also a big shout out to Michel, our executive chef, who presented us with wonderful, tasty meals every night. Not only, delicious, visually appealing, but enough food to keep even the hungriest man happy. He even accommodated our friend’s meal – she is gluten free. The other staff, Ingabord, Xander, Marjite and Damaris were great. They worked tirelessly to keep everyone happy. Rooms cleaned, dining room clean and set up every day. They also served as our bartenders, food servers and any special requests answered. They were extremely organized and very good at their jobs. And of course our captain Paul, who was not only our captain, but a jack of all trades. He always seemed to be pitching in to help the other crew members. All in all, the crew seemed to be a family of their own and made everyone feel at home. We were very lucky and got very cool weather for the week of July 13th which made the biking very enjoyable. On some nights we needed a light sweater if we wished to sit outside on the deck. For all the women out there who don’t know what to pack – it is a very casual setting. The dressiest I got was what they called “formal night” which I wore a simple sundress, some of the men were wearing shorts and they did not seem out of place. I would just pack what you would wear for your biking days and very simple stuff for dinner. A bathing suit if you want to use the hot tub (we did – it was super clean). A rain cover up for biking is a must because rain can come on quickly and go out just as quick. Something to wear at night if it’s chilly. I definitely over packed. Of course you will check the weather before leaving for you trip so you will most likely know if it will be hot or cold. But clothes wise, it is super simple. If there is any downside to this trip, it would be not spending enough time in the lovely cities that we got to see each day. But that is always the downfall of cruising. This was a wonderful trip, even my husband who is not a fan of biking, enjoyed it. I would recommend this trip to anyone. We had as young as 16 and an average age, I would venture to say 60ish. Some way younger, and some a bit older. I understand the crew works 2 weeks on and have 1 week off, so you might not get the same crew but I’m sure all crew members are all very professional. Highly recommend this trip.

Our group of seven people sailed on the Magnifique from Amsterdam to Bruges. This was a premium tour and it was an incredibly positive experience for all 7 of us. We each felt cared for and every aspect was top notch: The room was spacious & comfortable, the food was delicious, the staff were gracious & incredibly accommodating, the daily bike rides were fun and informative. Our 2 bike guides, Arie and Corrie, were excellent and a delight to be with for seven days. We will definitely consider another tour.
