Great trip through southern Holland, our first time on bike-boat. The only downside was the food was very bland – we ate out two nights on trip. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Trip: 11-18 Jun 2022. Southern tour with De Amsterdam boat. Hotel manager is not cooperative to help us store our luggage till 2pm and instruct his team to unload our luggage onto the pier at 1.30pm. He is more concern to ensure things goes his way and is chasing us off the boat as soon as possible. I’ve been in boat and bike for 2 times before and only faced this experience on this trip. In 2 previous trips, we are allowed to store our luggage at the lounge area and this will not affect incoming passengers. We observed his face expressions to be annoyed when the tour guide asked for his help to photocopy the day agenda and he insisted the Boat and Bike tour guide has to pay for the service. All this in front of the us, the customers. Is the boat manager a team player or only care about the boat? On the good performance, the Indonesia and Turkish waiters are very polite and friendly. They provide us more soup when we requested it and they always serve with a smile. They also come and make small talks with us that we become like good friends and we throughly enjoy their company. The 3 tour guide is also great. We have a ebike battery problem and request change. The boat team just ignore us and one of us has to paddle without ebike power for 2 days. When we inform Tom, he immediately take action and instruct that he give up his ebike for us. Observation on the last day briefing, both boat captain and boat manager complimented each other very much but the 3 boat and bike guide was not given opportunity to address the audience. After the captain dismiss us on the farewell briefing, Marielle our tour guide has to take the microphone from the captain to thank the audience for support and welcome us to more experience with other boat and bike tours. We will come back for boat and bike experience in other boats but not with de Amsterdam.

We just finished a week on De Amsterdam exploring southern Holland, and we already wish to return. Everything about the tour was wonderful. We loved the itinerary, the ship was everything we had hoped for and sparkling clean, and the provided maps and Ride With GPS gave us confidence in navigating our way around. Our guides Carla, Marielle, and Tom answered all of our questions patiently and thoroughly, and cared that our trip was successful and fun. The first day of biking there was a terrible storm forecast, but the itinerary was adjusted so that everyone could at least get out for the short route, which was appreciated, as the day was not entirely lost. The first night our air conditioner didn’t cool our room, but we asked to have it looked at, and when we returned later in the day, it worked perfectly, and there were no further issues with it. We found that Boat Bike Tours delivered everything that was promised, and that was a huge relief as we booked this tour in 2019 for 2020 travel, and could not take the tour until 2022 because of COVID.

Pros. Food – Great. Drinks – good. Overall Guide support – good. Bike support – Good. Cons. Not enough support for English Speakers. Not able to share table with other English – Speaking people on the tour.

The boat was very comfortable and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was nicely presented and tasty. The tour talks were worthwhile and in particular we found the safety on the road advice invaluable before we cycled in the cities. Scenery was beautiful and our e-bikes were great! Only problem was when we had a puncture. Help can be a long way off and bikes are heavy to work with.

The trip has been great, great arrangement for daily trips. Decent and easy to understand each trip information. Good map and trip description. Good and comfortable bikes. Very good and comfortable cabin. Nice hosts and good service. Breakfast with the option of packed lunch was very good. Dinner was rather mediocre, not very quality to be hotel class. This should get better. Otherwise well satisfied and happy to take a new trip. Tanks

My wife and I enjoyed the Southern Holland tour hosted by Boat/Bike Tours. We found the guides, boat crew, and staff were excellent and worked diligently to make our tour enjoyable. The accommodations are very comfortable and the food is excellent. Biking in Holland is a joy. However, for those who are not familiar with the biking culture in the Netherlands, be sure to listen carefully to the orientations! You will notice that biking is serious in Holland. Pay attention so you make as few mistakes as possible. One great tip we learned is to be sure to stop at any cafe where you see bicyclists. The always know the best stops. We had first thought to design our own tour but we discovered this outfit and realized that there was no way we could tour as efficiently by ourselves. The price is excellent for all that is provided. Best wishes as you bike!

Great trip! We had all the comforts of home while we experienced the many beautiful things of the country.

Our South Holland Boat Bike Tour was worth every penny. De Amsterdam is a wonderful cruise ship. The onboard meals were excellent, the crew was courteous and went out of their way to help any way they could. The cabins were well appointed and airy. We were given and uploaded GPX files for each day’s bike ride, however ended up using Fietsknoop, a Dutch app for following the waypoints for each day’s ride. The app worked out well. The only reasons not to give the tour 5 stars were: 1) The tour itself was operated by SE-Tours – a German company. All but 5 passengers spoke German, the rest of us English. Consequently, all daily briefings and speeches were conducted in German. For sure we received our own separate briefing which was gladly given, but we had to seek these out, 2) When my wife and I arrived to drop off our luggage on the ship, the crew’s passenger list did not include us. Later a representative from SE Tours arrived with a list that did include us but we had been moved to another cabin that we were not originally assigned to. This resulted in loosing our assigned bikes which are assigned by cabin, not by person. We also had to ask for the rear and front paniers, and air pump. We never did get the air pump. We feel there could have been better co-ordination between Boat Bike Tours and the tour operators.

Had a good tour with Boat and Bike. Allowing guest to use bikes while “in port” would have made the trip fantastic.
