My expectations were exactly as I had imagined. A warm, helpful, genuinely friendly, capable staff. A clean comfortable, beautiful barge. Meals that were satisfying and well presented. Overall we really enjoyed the trip. One suggestion would be to have more activities. There are a few days when we were at port early with nothing to do until dinner. Downtime is great if you are sailing but it was a bit too much downtime. The food and local city guides were good. Staff and cleanliness on the boat was also good.

Wanted to know the approx ages of the people who’d already booked on a particular holiday but they would not divulge the information. All of the other companies do divulge this (it does not affect privacy if they are telling you how many people of each decade are booked on a trip.) I will go elsewhere. Agent ended the chat. How rude!

This was a fantastic trip that I WILL be repeating. The trip exceeded my expectations in every way. • The food was delicious • The staff was friendly, professional, and helpful • The rural scenery was beautiful and most towns were scenic • Rental bikes were well maintained • The cabin was comfortable and efficiently laid out I was on the Magnifique II for the Hanseatic Cities tour. I chose this trip after discussing with the office staff what kind of trip I was looking for (smaller cites or rural areas). AND I thought that the quality of service and friendliness received via phone and email before the trip could not be exceeded. I was wrong: the staff on the boat provided even better service and went out of the way to make this a pleasant trip.

Our experience on the FIEP exceeded our expectations. Everyone, from the captain, sailor, cook, host and guides, was wonderful–welcoming, excellent at what they did, fun loving–just made it an outstanding experience for us. The biking was the perfect challenge, the group was supportive, Belgium and the Netherlands are beautiful beyond description, from the cities, to the forests, to the neighborhoods we cycled through. We will be back.

We liked the concept of the mobile water hotel and biking from there. The fundamental infrastructure is sound and everything is there for a very nice and satisfying vacation. We enjoyed the entire experience on the Amsterdam. We did however unfortunately experience some unsatisfactory effects of poor execution on De Willemstad. Notably the maintenance of the bathroom and cabin (plug of basin not working, water damming up in shower and around toilet, shower curtain covering shower floor, showerhead (De Willemstad Cabin 216) loose A/C surround fell over and noisy vibrating A/C. On the cycling side nice bicycles again poorly maintained (Light missing, light hanging loose, brakes not working due to adjustment, gears slipping due to adjustment. No action in a week on any of defects reported on De Willemstad

great staff and guides, just an overall wonderful experience. Loved the concept of day time biking and staying on a boat overnight – no need to pack up and change hotels!

Trip of a Lifetime! From the moment you walk on the ship until you leave, the staff treats you like you are the only passenger. They are friendly, accommodating and very gracious. The food was excellent. The accommodations were not only beautiful, but pristine. The bicycle trips were the best of the best. We had so much fun. Our guide Simon was terrific – he kept us informed, led great trips during the day and we loved the walks at night in the towns-and all of the crew couldn’t have been better or more welcoming. My family and I are still wondering how in the heck the cook was able to produce such good and abundant food in that little kitchen.

The electronic communication prior to the trip, arrangements of daily trips and events, keeping to the schedule were all done very well. De Amsterdam boat was overall a good experience other than more condensed briefing in English of the daily cycle tours. (German briefings were more detailed). De Willemstad boat needs minor upgrade. My matras in 105 was substandard, toilet is very uncomfortable (no legroom and toilet roll wrong placement etc). Scramble eggs on de Willemstad must be real eggs not powder eggs similar than what we had on De Amsterdam.
