Very well organized trip, bikes were great, food and service top, all the staff fabulous and the friendships we made was fantastic

Great experience. Excellent guide and choice of cycling route. Accommodation on boat was good, but as expected a little cramped in the bedroom, and the bathroom was tiny and needed some attention (but not serious). Meals on the boat were very good, and the lounge and eating area were ample and relaxing. Cycling routes were easy except for going over Les Alpilles, but it was worth it.

We were greeted with a very warm welcome by the crew when we first boarded. The whole crew on the Gandalf were very professional, helpful, polite, and friendly. The kitchen staff bent over backwards to cook to our special needs. We so much appreciate their willingness to do this. We had a very good experience on this trip and enjoyed all of the biking, coffee stops, and city tours. One suggestion I have is to perhaps include more special stops like at a cheese factory, or an artist’s display, or a farm. I would have enjoyed more stops like this than lots of coffee house stops. Yes, there was the Delft pottery, which was great. It would have been special to have seen an actual cheese factory in Gouda. Another suggestion is to make sure all of the porthole windows have screens or meshes covering them. This is my only complaint. In the middle of the week when it was warmer than usual, we had both the bathroom window and the bedroom windows open. There were 2 nights in a row where I woke up in the middle of the night violently scratching myself. I had about 50 bites on my legs, ankles, feet, arms, and shoulders. At first I wondered if there were bed bugs as I did not see any mosquitoes. I pulled the sheets back and did not see any bed bugs. I had to conclude that it had to be mosquitoes and we did start seeing them after that. I was very miserable with all of those bites. I did talk to the captain about this and he said that they had removed the screens/mesh to pass something through the porthole windows and had not replaced the screens. I strongly urge the captain to cover the porthole windows back up with screens for the next vulnerable occupants.

The crew, the guides, the passengers were all fun & game for everything! It was especially nice to interact with the crew. They were helpful in every way!

What a great bike and barge experience aboard the Flora. The crew were exceptional – Jonne the cook made delicious meals, Bertis the captain was knowledgeable and experienced and Christiane was amazing. They are a hard working crew who made sure our needs were taken care of, with a friendly and warm smile. The biking was a lot of fun – Bert and Tamy led us to interesting and historical places all around Northern Holland. Overall, I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun (and flat!) cycle around this beautiful country.

I had an amazing holiday. Everyone was very helpful polite and curtious. When it was too hot for me I had a hard time keeping up. A fellow biker offered me their e-bike which I was reluctant to take, never having used one before. I was surprised how easy it was to use. It was a life saver. I highly recommended everyone use the e-bikes.My fears of their weight and spread were soon overcome as they are very controllable.

My wife and I thoroughy enjoyed the Danube tour on the SE Manon (June 9-16). The cabins were comfortable, the crew was friendly and helpful, the food was fine. The scenery – well, quite spectacular. This was our first trip with Boat Bike Tours and it left us with a very positive impression overall. However, we do have a few comments and suggestions: – We found that the travel information that we received in advance did not make it clear where the boat would be docked. We had tried via email to get clarification before our arrival, but were unsuccessful. Upon our arrival in Passau, we were surprised when the staff at the Tourist Office directly across from the train station were not aware of our tour (run by SE Tours) or where the SE Manon was docked. After a number of phone calls by the Tourist Office, they found where the boat was docked and were able to provide us with the information. It was then interesting to discover (from fellow passengers) that taxi drivers seemed to know the location of every boat that was docked in town. – While snacks were provided every afternoon, it would be nice if there could be something other than cake with afternoon coffee/tea (a healthier option perhaps?) – It would be helpful if the bikes were equipped with water bottle holders. – For those who choose to go into cities on their own, it would be helpful if the crew could provide some basic and accurate travel information for common excursions (e.g., Vienna). When the boat was docked outside of Vienna, we were told to walk 200m in order to get to the tram station. This left us and a number of others from the boat scurrying around, asking shopkeepers and locals for information, as the actual distance was 1 km. Overall we enjoyed our trip and it left us with wonderful memories.

A belated review & now a distant of a fabulous Boat? Bike on the Zwaantje, From Paris (Lagny ) to Epernay. Attention to detail by the staff was fabulous & a great group of people. Loved every minute of it. Looking forward to another trip

If I could give 6 stars, I would. The captain, the cook, the help staff, and the tour guides on the Magnifique III ship were exceptional. The bike tour guides stole the show: Hester and Esther and Hester were the ultimate professionals, knowledgeable and kind. Esther was often the guide of my bike group, and she showed patience when needed, a fun sense of humor, and made all the bikers feel confident and comfortable riding. This was the best vacation I’ve ever had. I strongly recommend the boat and bike tour! J. H.
